Located along Nakuru-Nairobi highway in Gilgil. Utamaduni nature park is one of the most glamorous Places in Nakuru and in Kenya as a whole. Its attractive nature makes it one of the most visited places in Kenya. So well maintained, that it is a major tourist attraction of Nakuru. At a fee of just Ksh. 200 for adults and Ksh. 100 for kids you get a chance visit the animal orphanage and the traditional houses where you come out with a deeper understanding of the Kenyan culture. Lake Nakuru, a Rift Valley soda lake, lies in the southern region of Nakuru, Kenya. Large numbers of flamingoes come to the place because of the abundance of algae in the lake. Other beautiful birds, warthogs, black rhinos, white rhinos and baboons can also be seen near the lake. Large mammals also inhabit along the shore of Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru is under the protection of Lake Nakuru National Park.
3. Hyrax Hill.
Hyrax Hill is a very important archaeological site of Kenya, Africa. Hyrax Hill is a 1945 declared national monument and was publicly opened in 1965. The excavations done on the site has led to many discoveries and findings of materials that range from being 5000 years old to 200 years old. The museum exhibits objects made of bamboo, musical instruments, metal works, and pottery and hunting gadgets. One can also view the whole archaeology of the site in the gallery of the museum.The historic significance and the uniqueness of Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site and Museum has always been a major attraction among the tourists of Kenya
4. Menengai Crater
Menengai is the single largest surviving volcanic crater, located on the northern side of Nakuru. This is an extinct volcano, offering a striking view of Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria. It is believed that Menengai is a historic ground for battle between different clans from the Maasai community.
5. Lake Elementaita
It is a small soda lake located near Gilgil town. Its beautiful shores are grazed by zebras, antelopes, gazelles, impalas and a variety of reptiles. Flamingos can also be found at the Lake, though not a good number like in Lake Nakuru. The Lake provides beautiful sceneries for bird watching, family walks, game viewing and camping.
